Welcome back, RP Family. I'm so excited for you to join this week's episode of Relentless Pursuit. I'm your host Nathan, and I am. So excited for what God has for us. This is a little new. To me, this is our last episode for this season. And I'm, I am encouraged and I'm excited for what's coming and what God is doing. And I just know that what's gonna come from today and what's gonna come from the future is going to help and impact so many. And with that being said, let's get into it. I don't really have a title for today. I don't really have notes all prepared. I I just I felt like I had something but I felt like the Lord wanted me to go in a different direction. And first I want, I wanna speak from the place of Abraham and his journey when Abraham first started, his journey. He, we see him in Genesis chapter 11. And then we see him in Genesis chapter 12 where he's, no, not Abraham, he's Abraham. And we see this transition from Abraham to Abraham as God begins to manifest the promises that that God spoke over Abraham's life in his and they start coming to pass. And it's so crazy'cause I've seen so many promises that God has fulfilled in my life. And as I've been on this journey. As I've been, working towards what God has for me and my family, I just feel like there has been so many obstacles, so many trials, so many tribulations, so much heartache. But at the same time, there's been so many celebrations, so much gratitude, so much gratefulness so many blessings that I can't even count. It's just, it's so crazy to see what God does and the transformation from who you were previously before, what God does, and then after the fingerprints of God have been over your life it's so insane. The radical transformation from A to B. It's so crazy to experience and have and see. And so with that being said I, I wanna get into a little bit of Abraham's life. But I want to reference what we spoke about in the last podcast we had. It's the season of transition for me and my family or my family and I, and we are going into, the new for us. There's a lot of new coming. There's a lot of new ahead, but there's also a lot of things that we are releasing to God and for, and trusting in him that not only is he going to multiply or bring better, but he's gonna multiply his president presence and bring himself to us. I'm reminded of a story, of when I was freshly new to the Lord. And I believe I was 21 years a old, and I was in the conference and in Las Vegas of all places. But I was at a conference and the Lord spoke to me. When you're 26, you will be a pastor. And at that time I was freshly new to the Lord. And I was like, oh yeah. Awesome. Praise God. I'm so excited. This and that. I was like, so my expectation for what God was gonna do is I was gonna have a church by 26 years old. I was gonna lead congregation, I was gonna be preaching every Sunday, this and that. And as God matured me, it wasn't that my expectation was different than reality, but it was, what God's word was different than my expectation because when I was 26, I got married. And I was a pastor of my home. And so sometimes God speaks words over your life and you're not sure what to do with them in the moment, but you know that, that word is a seed that needs to be sown into the ground. And so there are certain words that God gives you. You may not understand them in the moment, but when know, when you know that the Lord is speaking to you, that you have to plant that seed. You have to plant that seed and, I come grateful for what God has done. I, and I'm gonna, I was gonna wait till the end, but I'm gonna, I'm gonna share it now. This will be the last relentless pursuit as with me as your host. It's been an amazing two and a half years going on three. And I'm so excited for what God is doing, not just in my life, but also through relentless pursuit. And relentless pursuit is not over. It's not done. The Lord spoke to me and said, it's time. It's time to move forward. Me and my family earn a season of transition, as I said. And he said, I need to focus on what he's given me. So I need to be a steward for, I need to be a. A proper steward for what God has promised me and for what God has given me in this moment and in this season. And he said, it's time for me to move forward and give relentless pursuit. I don't wanna say give it away, but give it to someone who I trust and so who, someone who I believe in, someone who is ready and equipped for what God is doing in their life. And who I'm, who I believe that the Lord has spoke to me and told me. And the keys over is Pastor Tyler Lowry, and he's from Dallas. He's going to be, I think moving to Houston pretty soon. But we had him on pre in previous episodes and so I'm just, I'm really excited for what God is doing in his life, but also in relentless pursuit. And and also along with that my life and my family's life. And so I. I am leaving my baby. I'm giving it to God. And what God has for this podcast and what God has for everyone who listens and watches I may not know, but I know that one man waters, one man plants, but God brings the increase and I'm so grateful for everything that has happened. But God knows what he's doing, and so I'm trusting in God. But with that being said let's get into a little bit of the Bible. I just, I really feel like this whole time, it's been going in alignment with what Abraham was going through when he, when God spoke to Abraham and said, it's time for you to leave your father's house. And I'm thinking about this story and I know how. Powerful. That story has resonated in me for throughout the years, especially through the hard transitions where it's, it you feel like it's time for you to let go and it's to feel, you feel like it's time for you to move forward and you feel like it's time for you to do something different than you've never done before. But at the same time you're. It's hard for you to move. It's hard for you to leave something that's comfortable and something that has sustained you for so long and it's so hard for you to feel like, okay, this is where I'm assured in God, this is how I'm assured that it was his word. It's so hard to find that assurance in God when you don't, when you have to rely on something that's uncomfortable. I took two months off in the beginning of the year from relentless pursuit of posting. I just wanted to relax. I wanted to sit, I wanted to just wait on the Lord. I want to be refreshed. And what he said in those two months he, one, blew my socks off. But at the same time, you said right now you need to focus on what's in front of you. And from those two months so much has happened in my home church. So much promotion has happened and I'm so gr extremely grateful. But the Lord said, you need to focus on what's in front of you. And with that being said I'm reminded of the time where, of in Abraham's life when in Genesis chapter 11, he talks about his father Teran and Teran who then was the father of Abram and also Harran. Harran was the brother of Abram and he died in this land of the child deans, and, what ended up happening is that the place where his brother died is where his father settled. And so the promises of God were hindered from Abram because his father settled in a land that was foreign to him. And so I. In the moment, it was like, what are you doing this? Or in the moment it was probably the right decision, or it was this decision that seemed best for their family is that they were mourning, they were grieving, so they wanted to stay close to their brother, but at the same time, what God was saying was to stretch them and to expand their territory and influence. They were going to the gland of Canaan. And so then 75 years later, God spoke to Abram and said, come out from your family. Come out from your father. Come out from what's familiar to you, and I'm gonna give you a land, and I'm gonna show you a land in which you are to go. And the crazy part is that, he said, I will make you a great nation. And how many times has God spoken to people and said, I will make you into X, Y, Z. I will make you into a great nation. I will make you into a pastor. I will make you into a husband. I will make you into a teacher. I will make you into a father. I will make you into these things and these promises that have been laid out, but at the same time, we have been stuck in our hurt or so stuck in our wound that we haven't been willing or even feels like it's eight, we're able to move forward. And the crazy part is that harran means barrenness. I am sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Harran means barrenness. And so what was barren attached itself to the promise because the promise is has a lifetime and if we don't take an the opportunity of a lifetime during the lifetime of the opportunity, then the opportunity will be missed. And so God spoke to Abraham and said, I will make you a great nation. And so fast forward to verse four. In, in, in chapter 12, it says, so Abraham departed in faithful obedience as God as the Lord directed him with lot the nephew. And so they went and they moved, they departed to the land of Canaan where God showed'em the land. They then settled in the land of Canaan, but then famine hit Abram and his family. And so it pushed them to Egypt. And we are familiar probably with the story of Abraham, how he goes to the, this king and he acts like a fool and or he, I'm sorry, he starts to lie. And he says Sarah is his sister, and just, he went down a rabbit hole of lie after lie. And what's crazy is that the famine made him move away from the promise. See, God spoke. God said something to Abraham, say, go to a land, I will show you. And God showed him the land. And his job though there was a famine, was to be rooted in the promise that he's spoken, though his external surroundings may have pressured him into moving from the promise that God rooted in him. But the problem is that he was so confu comfortable with barrenness, that he allowed the famine to scare him. He is still remembering the wounds from his past and remembering the pain that he went through from the barrenness. He remembered from the pain that he went through when his brother died, he remembered the pain of settling and comfort. So what ended up happening was the pressure of life. Instead of teaching him what to do, it made him it fearful of what was coming. So he left. Abraham was never called by God to leave Canaan, but out of fear, he left out of fear of the famine he left. See, God always desires to show you visions, to show you dreams, to show you his promise. He may not show you the plan for it. He may not show you how you're gonna get from A to B, but he desires to show you. He desires to speak and see. This is the problem with a lot of today. Is that we are so word hungry that we over indulge in a word that wasn't meant for us. I've been listening to preachings lately and I find myself getting encouraged, but at the time, same time, I'm like, okay, this word is a great word from God, but I have to understand God spoke something to me very specifically and individually. I have to take what God spoke to me directly in order for me to be fruitful and multiply that word. And so if I have a promise that was spoken to God, if you have a promise that was spoken to you by God, then you have to steward your seed, your word properly. And just because God spoke something to you does not mean he spoke it to me just because there's been a, a, a. Certain things in certain ways that you were to go does not mean I have to go the same way or route just because he spoke to. To Abraham to leave his father's households and go into a land that he's shown you. That doesn't mean sometimes I am called to stay and wait in the middle just because that he's called you to go to, to, to Rome like Paul. Doesn't mean that I'm, everyone's called to Rome like Paul just because he's called or you are called to a certain level or certain degree in the faith. Lemme rephrase that certain degree or level such as pastoralship such as an apostleship such as a teacher, does not mean everyone is called to be a pa pastor, prophet, apostle teacher or evangelist. In each capacity I want you to know them. Just because you have been called to be a certain category of the body does not mean everybody was supposed to be called to be a certain category. You are called to be a pinky does not mean you could be a pinky toe. You are calling to be the eyes doesn't mean I should say. We'll say the rib cage doesn't mean you can be you know the knee. Each function, each body part has its function that it's called to. And see, our purpose was written by God before the foundation of the world. And so the Bible says that the Holy Spirit hovered over the waters. And I want to get into this. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit hovered over the waters of the deep in the beginning, in Genesis and it said, and then it said, let there be light. And then it said, let there be Earth. And he made this whole realm, this whole atmosphere, this whole area this whole galaxy really. And then what ended up happening is he in Genesis two, he took some dirt and then he breathed in it, meaning that he made something from what he was spoken, I'm sorry let me rewind. He made something to house. Or be a host to what he breathed in. And we know if we read the Hebrew ruok, which means the wind, the breath, or the spirit of God, he made a housing place or dwelling place for him to dwell within. So he took a piece of himself implanted in dirt. Now, as if, as we're going through this what do you need in order for that for seed to bring life or bring to multiply or bring fruit? In order for a seed to be rooted in the soil and then bear fruit, you need water and light. Now you get water from the river of living water the life and you bring, you get light from his presence. And so I'm reminded of the water that we need, which is the living water. I'm reminded of the woman at the well where she was at the well because she was embarrassed of where she was and her embarrassed of her life because she, that's not my point. And she comes to this well, and Jesus is there and she Jesus asks her, do you do can you gimme some water? And she was like, you can't get it yourself. And he was like, if only if you knew who was asking you, you would ask him for water. Because you will never thirst again. And your like, she was like, who is, who are you? That you. What kind of water would, can you give me that I'll never thirst again? Are you greater than our father? Abraham. And what ends up happening is that he gives her a piece or a taste of this living water where she will never thirst again. And so that's the thirst ingredient of life is living water. That is salvation. That is the blood of Jesus. And so then we get the second half, which is light. What is light? It's his presence. Moses found out. What his, what light was when he went up a mountain and he saw the glory of the Lord where it so impacted him. And I'll even say scarred him, that as he went down, he looked like what he was beholding. And so that light, it then formed him and conformed him into what he was looking at. And so what we need in order for. For us to sustain the life that God is trying to provide. In order for us to see the promises to come to fruition in our life, we need two things. We need the well of living water, and we need the light of his presence. So we need to be conformed. Into who he's called us to be conformed into his image, conformed to what he's set for us to conform to. And then also we need to be poured into. The Bible says in Psalms 23, it says that our cup runs over And see, the problem with most of today is that we go to the well expecting a drink, we get the the water that we need for the moment and then leave. But what we don't understand or what we can't that what we misunderstand, I should say, is that God doesn't want us to ever leave the he wants us to stay at the, he wants us if I would even say this he wants us to dive in the well and back to the promises, back to what Abraham was doing. Abraham went to the land of Canaan and he, then God spoke to them. Fast forward to, to Joseph. Joseph was betrayed by his brothers, but then he was second in command to Pharaoh, but that's still not good enough. See, second in command isn't good enough. So God said, okay, I'll sustain you for the season, but my grace is going to be lifting. And but while they were there. Joseph died. Pharaoh died. And so they were ended up being slaves. And they were making bricks. They were making bricks. Now fast forward they exit Egypt. They exit the wilderness. They're in the promised land. Praise God. They see the promises come to fruition, but at the same time. At the same time, God has still never stopped hovering over darkness. Looking for who for places and people that he can feel with his spirit that he can pour into living water. And in order for him to pour into living water I'm coming back to the Egyptians, or I'm coming back to the Israelites leaving Egypt. So just gimme a second. But God hovered over looking for a place for him to dwell. The Bible says in Isaiah chapter 66, it says that the throne that heaven is. God's throne and the earth is his foot still. And so then he, the Bible also says it goes into, I've been, I'm, God is searching for a place for him to dwell, but he can't dwell from a place that God, that man made. I. And so then it goes into, God is looking for people that have, that are humble tremble or contract in spirit, and then tremble in his word. And so then we now we're getting these ingredients. So you need living water, you need salvation and you need Lord Jesus. Water and light, and you need his presence. So you need to be saved and you need to dwell with him. So in order for you to dwell with him it then leads to this branch where you need to be humble, contrite in spirit, and trembling at his word. Okay so now we have these. This setup. Okay, so we have this setup and in Romans it says that we are the living stones where God or Jesus is our cornerstone. So we are being built upon the foundation that has been set before the foundation of the world. We were knit together then. So as we were I'm jumping all over the place. I just want you to know, but I'm coming back to. Every single, I'm not gonna say it. I'm not gonna say it. So Jesus was slain, was the lamb slain before the foundation of the world or Jesus? Or, the Bible also says that we were formed before the foundation of the world. So that means that outside of time we were formed, we were knit together. We were anything that. We will do or have done what has been covered by the lamb that was slain. So that was the blood, that's salvation. We still have that living water, praise God. But now we have to understand that we have to be sustained by the light. We have to be the sustained by the light. And we have to be the living stones that Christ has made. And so this is where I'm going. So we have the stones that were made by God and then we have. The bricks that were made by men. Exodus chapter 22. Let's see. I have it. I don't have, so Exodus chapter 22. Let's go there. I am sorry. Exitus 20, not 22. 20. Okay. Exodus 2025. It says, if you make an altar of stone for me, you shall not build it of cut stones for if you use a chisel on it, you will profane it, meaning that. Stones are created by God. They're natural. They're from the dirt. You, we picked them up but chiseled stones are bricks. They're created by man. This is what. This is crazy. So chiseled stones is what was used in Egypt to build the altars, to build the temples, to build the pyramids, to build everything. Chisel stones were used in Egypt. God is saying you are not who you were in your bondage because I have baptized you in the living water. So who you are now is going to be people of my presence. Meaning that he took them from Egypt, their bondage, making things for themselves, took'em through the water. To place them into the promise that they have that God has spoken to them and made them people of their presence. And so he's saying, if you build an altar, don't build it by your hand. Build it by my hand because my hand is the only thing that can sustain me. And that's why he says, I've been looking through all the earth, but the, but how can a man build me a temple? I. I'm looking for someone who's humble, contrite in spirit, and trembles at his word. And so we bring all these back together and we see this moment, and we see this time. Okay I get back to the, I get back to the I gotta stop. We come back to this moment. If we go back to where, what God has spoken for our p for the year is to be a dwelling place for him. And it's like everything God has been showing me has been bringing me to the point of you need to dwell with him. No matter what you do, no matter what you can do or can't do, no matter the accolades, no matter the opportunities, no matter the platform, no matter the position, what you have to do and the obligation that I'm giving you is to be a dwelling place. Be a dwelling place. Don't just settle for the barrenness of the world. Walk in the blessing of the water. And so I giant fell well. The giant represented more than just someone who is coming to take the land. Of Canaan, but he came, he was a representation of someone who's coming to take the promise. But what ended up happening is that David defeated him with the smooth stones. And so I want you to understand this. The way we overcome or defeat the devil and preserve the promise is by being the smooth stones in the water. Man, that was good. We have to be the smooth stones in the water. God's made everyone promises, and the transition from glory to glory is we are exposed in, in, in the in-between where we're passing. Through the valley where we have to trust the shepherd to be our protector. And it's so crazy because it doesn't say it that, that scripture, Psalms 23. It says, either I walk through the valley, the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil. And it's sandwiched between a place where we have rest and a place where we're overflowing. But I'm still walking through the valley. I don't, not looking back at my rest, I'm not looking forward to my blessing. I won't. All I can see in the moment is my surroundings, is my walking through this valley. But at the same time, I, my perspective shouldn't be on the valley itself. My perspective should be on my teacher who's teaching me in the midst.'cause class is in session and I'm here to learn. I'm in this moment to. Be taught, humility. I'm in this moment to be taught how to be contrary in spirit. I'm in this moment to how to be taught to tremble at his word, to have the fear of the Lord instilled in me. And I'm in this moment, and I have to grasp what is being spoken because if I don't grab hold of it, I'll live in the barrenness of the moment. If I don't grab hold of it, I might run back to my, back to where I came from because of my famine. It, I have to rely on the teacher. I have to rely on my rabbi. I have to rely on my shepherd. I have to rely on my provider. I have to rely and I shouldn't say I, I should say we, we have to rely on our teacher. We have to rely on our healer. We have to rely on our blesser. We have to watch. Rely on our way maker. We have to rely on the one who says who is there from the beginning, the one who is the author and the finisher of our faith. We have to rely on the alpha and the Omega. The one who knows the beginning from the end, he is the one who we have to rely on and it's in this moment. Where we, our reliance is not in our own strength, but it's on his strength where we become the dwelling place where he's called us to be. It's because our purpose longs for him. It's because our spirit longs for him. It says, as a dear pants for water, my soul longs for you. And it's when our soul and our spirit are in alignment to the word of God and the promises that he's spoken. We are able to be the temple and the dwelling place for him. And so as I'm transitioning to what's next for me and my family or my family and I'm leaving you into the hands of someone that I trust immensely, but at the same time where I know that he's going to do some great things for the Lord. Wow. And so what he does, I don't know, will you be called Relentless Pursuit after this episode? I don't know. Will you last or be a podcast that, that is streamed every week or every other week? I don't know. I don't know what's to come, but what I do know is that I trust in the Lord and he told me that this is the. This is the one, this is the man that's gonna take up this mantle, that's gonna take up this podcast, this the these episodes and the one that's gonna be speaking life and speaking encouragement, speaking faith into the people who listen to this. And I know that God's promises are yes and amen. And God's promises will come to pass. And so I don't know what I have what God has for me yet. But I know what he has for me is better than what I could have for myself. And so I trust him. I trust him. And so I want to say thank you to everyone. Dang, I'm getting emotional. This is, I try not to get too mo, too emotional on the podcast so I can speak correctly, properly, but it's just, I'm gonna miss you guys. I'm gonna miss. This, I'm gonna miss preparing. I'm gonna miss prepping. I miss editing, posting, all that, but I know the grace is lifting for my time here and I'm so grateful. So I want to thank you everyone one last time.
